2.What Information We Collect

Information you provide directly:

  • Newsletter signup — email address and optional display name when you subscribe to our editorial digest.
  • Contact & corrections forms — name, email address, and message content when you submit an inquiry, story tip, or correction request.

  • Usage data — page-level analytics (page views, session duration, scroll depth) collected through first-party analytics. Used solely for editorial decision-making. Not sold or shared with third parties for marketing.
  • Advertising data — cookies and identifiers placed by Google AdSense and its partners to serve interest-based advertising. See Section 6 for full disclosure.
  • Cookies — described in detail in Section 5.

3.How We Collect Information

  • Direct submission via forms (newsletter, contact, corrections).
  • Automatic server-side logging of HTTP requests to our servers.

6.Google AdSense & Third-Party Advertising

Vanhub News is partly supported by display advertising delivered through Google AdSense (Google LLC, Mountain View, CA, USA). This section constitutes our full AdSense and interest-based advertising disclosure.

Required disclosure (Google AdSense policy)Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to this site or other sites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to our users based on their visits to vanhubnews.com and/or other sites on the Internet.

Specifically:

  • Google uses the DoubleClick cookie (and similar identifiers) to serve personalised advertisements to users who have previously visited the Site.
  • Google’s advertising partners may combine Site-visit data with data from other sources to serve you ads elsewhere on the Internet.
  • Vanhub News has enabled Google’s interest-based advertising features. You can review and adjust which categories of interests Google uses at Google My Ad Center.

Opt-out options:

Choosing to opt out will result in non-personalised ads — you will still see advertisements, but they will not be tailored to your browsing history.

For information about Google’s data practices, see the Google Privacy Policy.

7.Data Sharing & Disclosure

We share personal information only with the following categories of recipients, and only to the extent necessary to operate the Site:

  • Hosting & infrastructure — Vercel Inc. (USA) for web hosting and CDN; Supabase Inc. (USA) for our encrypted database. Both are covered by standard contractual clauses for cross-border transfers.

  • Advertising — Google LLC (USA) via AdSense, as described in Section 6.
  • Legal obligations — we will disclose information when required by a Canadian court of competent jurisdiction, a valid subpoena, or where necessary to prevent imminent harm.

We never sell reader data, newsletter subscriber lists, or any personally identifiable information to advertisers, data brokers, or any other third party for commercial purposes.
