Our Parent Organisation

Vines Management Group

Vanhub News is a publication of Vines Management Group, a Vancouver-based investment and media holding company. Vines Management Group provides Vanhub News with the operational independence and capital structure needed to pursue long-form, primary-source journalism without dependence on reader subscriptions or editorial compromise.

The editorial team operates with full independence from Vanes Management Group’s other portfolio interests. Commercial relationships held by the parent group are disclosed proactively whenever a covered subject has a connection to the group.

Editorial Firewall

Vines Management Group holds no editorial authority over Vanhub News. Story selection, sourcing, and editorial judgement rest entirely with the named editorial staff.

Conflict Disclosure

When any Vines Management Group portfolio interest is covered, the article carries a disclosure at the top. Readers can request our full conflict register at editor@vanhubnews.com.

Our Mission

Eliminating information asymmetry between institutions and everyone else.

Information asymmetry is the most profitable feature of modern housing and capital markets. Listings firms hoard absorption data; venture funds hoard cap-table mechanics; mortgage shops hoard the actual stress-test math. Vanhub News exists to dissolve as much of that asymmetry as a small newsroom can — by translating primary documents (BC Assessment filings, CMHC reports, SEC S-1s, Bank of Canada minutes, leaked Series-B decks) into work that operators, founders, and homebuyers can act on the same morning.

We are not a content marketing platform. We are not a press release aggregator. We are a newsroom with five named journalists who have made the Vancouver real estate, tech, and startup markets their professional life’s work. Our standard is simple: if a story doesn’t tell a sophisticated reader something they couldn’t get from a five-minute Google search, we don’t publish it.

Why Vancouver

A city where three forces collide simultaneously.

Vancouver is one of the few North American cities that simultaneously functions as a Pacific real-estate gateway, a Cascadia tech corridor node, and a Commonwealth financial market. Capital, talent, and regulatory experiments arrive here from Seoul, San Francisco, Toronto, and London at roughly the same speed — and they collide inside the same ten city blocks. That gives our reporters an unusually direct sightline into how macro trends become local consensus.

We are physically headquartered in downtown Vancouver, with contributing editors based in Seattle, Toronto, and Calgary. Every location is listed publicly on each author’s profile page, because geographic accountability is not optional for a local intelligence publication.

Research Methodology

A five-step editorial pipeline built for institutional-grade output.

1

Primary Source Acquisition

Regulatory filings, central-bank releases, court records, and official statistical releases are gathered and structured before any narrative work begins.

2

Cross-Reference & Triangulation

Major factual claims are verified against at least two independent sources. Dollar figures and percentages are traced to the originating institution and report.

3

Market Context Mapping

Our research desk maps every story against Metro Vancouver's current market conditions — absorption rates, interest-rate environment, regulatory calendar, and employment data.

4

Editorial Analysis

A named editor writes the analytical layer: second-order effects, contrarian views, and the local impact on homeowners, renters, operators, and founders.

5

Fact-Check & Publish

Every statistic, name, and quote is verified line-by-line before publication. Articles go live under a verified byline. Post-publication corrections follow our public corrections workflow.

Our Six Pillars

What separates intelligence from information.

01

Data First

Every story starts with primary sources — CMHC, Bank of Canada, BC Assessment, Statistics Canada, SEC filings, and municipal records. Opinion follows evidence; evidence never follows opinion.

02

Named Accountability

Every published article carries a verified byline. Our five editorial staff members publish their beats, credentials, and contact details publicly. There are no anonymous 'staff writers' at Vanhub News.

03

Local Depth

We are physically based in Metro Vancouver. Our reporters understand the SkyTrain corridor, the BC Assessment cycle, the foreign-buyer tax history, and the specific regulatory texture that national outlets routinely flatten.

04

Analytical Rigour

We do not rewrite press releases. Every Vanhub News story includes an original analytical layer — second-order effects, historical context, and a candid assessment of who benefits and who bears the cost.

05

Editorial Independence

Vanhub News maintains a strict firewall between editorial and commercial operations. Advertisers have zero influence over story selection, angle, or framing. Sponsored content is labelled at the top of the piece.

06

Institutional Transparency

Corrections are published inline with a timestamped note. Sourcing standards, conflicts-of-interest rules, and our full editorial workflow are published in our Editorial Policy — not stored in a locked PDF.
